When collecting data, it can easily happen that certain groups of the population are overrepresented; the population sample is biased, so to speak. A well-known example of this sampling bias comes from medical research, where new drugs are largely tested on men in clinical trials.
Contact monitor update: now for federal states

As of today (01.03.2022), it is possible to observe the contact behavior for each federal state in our contact-monitor. The monitor is daily updated, although it takes a few days for enough user data to arrive to calculate the contact measures.

On our contacts-monitor we can track the mean contacts and the variation of contacts at the federal level. Here we want to look at contact changes for each state. We focus on the most recent developments in the last month (November 2021), as a massive increase in the number of cases was recorded at that time.
Omicron - Import Risk

Omicron, the new variant of concern, was first detected in South Africa and Botswana on November 2021. Up until the date of this report (30.11.2021), according to GISAID it was reported in 11 other countries: Canada, Spain, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Austria, Czech Republic, Israel, Hong Kong (China) and Australia.

Traffic Between Adjacent Counties

In the most recent report we explored the mobility data from the perspective of a county (Stadt- or Landkreis), a small German administrative subdivision. We discovered that the majority of all traffic stays within one county, and only very little traffic (~5%) goes further than the directly adjacent counties.
